Cupcake, Gone Fishing

It was the kids grandpas birthday and he and my mom love to go fishing. So the kids and well, I did too, wanted a fishing theme for his birthday cake. So, while I was, NOT, surfing Pinterest...ok I was, I found a few pictures...

They were a little different than these. We added our own little twist. We added some grass and had a few of the "lines" stuck in the grass. I think they turned out cute but what matters most is, so did the kids.
Everyone loved them and there were smiles all around!

Rugged Cross

One of my favorite appliques is from Embroidery Boutique.

I call it my "Rugged Cross".

Not only is it one of my faves it is also everyone elses favorite as well.

I think the older the shirt gets, the better the shirt looks and feels....

Can't go wrong with the ole rugged cross!

While home for the Holidays...

While the kids were out of school for the Christmas break... we played a little.

We got out different things to try, things to make, and things to sew.
We didn't get near the things done that we had planned BUT we did have a lot of fun and that is, after all, what it is all about!

Here is a little bit...

Shae wanted to make jewelry and since I gave ALL of my things to my mom, tools, beads etc., I came up with another idea...

Found my hemp, grabbed some beads that I found along with the hemp from old projects... and taught her how to do this...

This was her FIRST go at it... Never took out one knot, NOT ONE! Kind of made me sick for her first try... I remember mine being,.. well...BAD!!!

Then she was hooked a little.
We found some buttons, I made one then she made one.

Then she wanted to keep going and found these buttons...

I think I need a hiding place for buttons! :)

It was lots of fun though. We both loved every minute of it.

We went scavenging for pine cones and sweetgum "balls" to do another project but those pics are yet to come...
FUN FUN FUN!!!!

Snow Ball fight in the living room

Well our elves came back and for the most part have been good. Shayne did eat the last Swiss Roll though... She also rolled the living room but the snow ball fight was the cutest.

Kacey's penguin Blue Eyes got in on the fun this time and took a shot to the head.

But then turned around and gave one right back!

All and all, they had fun well into the night!

...and left the wet mess for me to clean up...but it wasn't too bad... this time!
